TrayAway: Clearing Hotel Hallways with Connected Hardware

Consumer Electronics / IoT
Wireless Connectivity
Low-Power Design

The Problem

Room-service trays left in hallways are a persistent eyesore for hotels. TrayAway needed a compact, reliable in-room device that could signal housekeeping from inside a guest room through concrete walls.

Our Approach

We focused on the three hardest constraints up front: battery longevity, wireless range through dense building materials, and durability under constant guest use.

The Solution

Power-efficient circuitry to stretch battery life, a wireless design robust enough to penetrate concrete walls, and hard-wearing materials, all packaged into an intuitive, guest-friendly button.

The Impact

A fully engineered button device that pairs a simple guest experience with reliable performance, the hardware foundation that makes the broader TrayAway hotel solution work.

Current Status

Engineering complete. A functional, deployable device ready to integrate into the TrayAway system.
